bueno....
dear the thammy. I am currently in finishing the tenth change of
my 16-change mission. That kind of scares me. But don´t worry, I still
have tons of time left. I think when I drew you all that map of the
area I didn´t really explain it too well. The mission is divided in
zones, districts, and areas. The map I drew you all is a map of the
entire zone which consists of 2 districts and 6 areas. I tell you all
that my companion and I visit all the areas because we are the zone
leaders ( I think I´ve been leaving that detail out for a while haha)
so we visit all the missionaries in the zone at least once a month.
When we travel to Nauta (the one that´s 40 miles away) we always go in
car, but when we travel to the other places we go in mototaxis. It´s
like a motorcycle with a big seat on the back (it has 3 wheels).
They´re really common in PerĂº.
Well, the mission is going just dandy. We are still baptizing and
finding more and more people to teach and baptize. My companion will
be going home this week, so when I write you next week I will be with
a different companion haha. I´m sure he will be awesome. I love the
members, I love the area, I love the president, I´m kinda sick of the
food hahahahaha, but I all around just flat out love love love my
mission. I never realized that I could find out more about myself and
my talents and my purpose by forgetting about me and serving others.
I´m not even kidding, I know what God expects of me in life because I
understand my strengths and weaknesses better now.
Missionary work is so cool. It is so fun. It is so rewarding, but
it is definitely really hard sometimes. I really am loving my time
here so much. Sorry I never answer all your questions or give you tons
of details about the investigators or anything. Sorry I never send
birthday presents or letters very often, but I hope you know that I
really do love you all and I am extremely grateful for all your love,
support, and prayers.

Lots of baptism lined up!
Thammy and the crew,
If I could turn my money into time right now, I would do it. But that´s not even possible, because even if I could, I just don´t have any money. That was a dumb joke haha. But really, I don´t have any time right now. This week has been awesome. We are going to be getting another family baptized and married this week, then another family on the 4th then another family on the 17th and another person on the 15th and another family at the end of the month and we have another family in our plans in the first or second week of march. We are stoked. This work is so so so rewarding and I am enjoying it so much. I finally feel like I understand it a little bit better. And I still have tons of time left to keep learning and getting better and better. Thank you for writing. I CANT BELIEVE YOU SAW ELDER HOLLAND!! He is my absolute hero... along with Josh and Elder Anderson. I´m glad things are going better at the lab, I have been praying for that every day and I´m glad Ben is so stoked about the mission. He will be an amazing misisionary.
Love me!

If you haven't read the Book of Mormon, read it!
Thammmmmmmmmmmmmieieieieieieieyyy!
Ok. I have like 20 minutes to write! Wow, this is so weird writing in english, but we will see how it goes. I am doing great. My companion´s name is Elder Lazo. He is from a place called Tumbes that is here in Peru. He lives in the north part by the ocean where there are pure white sand beaches and lots of seafood. We totally have plans to hang out after the mission. He will be finishing on February 7th, so we are both working really hard to not be compacent in his last moments as a missionary. We are serving in a ward called Secada. In the entire city of Iquitos, it is the strongest ward. There are TONS of members with an average assistance of 225 people every sunday which is A LOT here. We are super blessed with tons of investigators and lots of them are choosing to follow the example of Jesus Christ and be baptized. The work is going well and we are going to achieve the goal for baptisms in the whole zone this month. We are all pretty stoked.
Thank you for keeping me updated with the family. I feel like such a failure. When Matt and Josh were on their missions, they always sent us letters and gifts for our birthdays and I haven´t ever sent ANYTHING! I think I will be going back to Lima in July and I am going to be bringing you all some stuff when I come home, but until then, it is really expensive to send things from here so just please forgive me! I promise that I still love you all! That´s a bummer that Zac had to get let go, but I´m sure he will do great in college along with Jason and Matt. I think that I might study there too, everybody´s doing it! I had a dream that I went home last night and I played with Addie for like 2 hours, then I gave Josh and Zac a big hug and it made me cry. I literally haven´t seen you all in so long. Fifteen months. But don´t worry, cuz I really am doing good.
I am sending you 3 pictures. The first one is a family that we baptized like a month ago. The husband´s name is Pepe, the wife´s name is Madeleine. They have 3 kids (that I know of haha) 1 of them is on a misson and the other one (in the picture) is leaving this month. They just barely got baptized and they will have 2 kids in the mission just like you guys!!!!!! They are a very special family. The other 2 pictures are of my companion and I when we went to go visit a family in our area after it had rained for 3 days straight (it is raining so much here right now!!) and we had to walk through tons of mud and huge puddles to get to their house. Josh can testify of this, too, it is a lot easier to walk through thick mud without your dimpy shoes on haha.
I just hope you all know that I am having the time of my life. I know that a lot of my friends read this blog and so I just want to let you all know that I haven´t forgotten about ANY of you. Thank you so much for your love and support. If you haven´t read the book of mormon, read it.

All is Well
mother of mine,
I wasn´t going to write because we have tons of stuff to do right now, but I can´t just not say anything. that would make me a bully. so i´m just writing to let you know that all is going well here. I am happy, healthy, chubby, short, and funny just like you know me. I am very excited for the rest of the misison and I am very grateful and sad when I think of that time that has already passed. I will be completing 15 months this week.... so fast. As you all know, I will be coming home this year hahaha, but I´m not thinking about that. I´m just super happy to be here and I am making the best of it. Thanks for the package with the cds and the candy, we already ate all of it. I did buy another memory card and I am filling it up quickly with pictures and videos of our pday trip to the river. I love you all so much. Call me.

Everything is going better than great!
Thceuaumy, mom,
Sometimes you are sick and you can´t write me, but that´s ok, I´m not sick so I can just write you! We got our changes today. Only two guys are going to be leaving from the zone and the rest of us are all staying here obviously to enjoy the sun and the rain. I had an incredible day yesterday. I got to lead the music in sacrament meeting then we just visited investigators and converts all day long. We ate so much it wasn´t even funny. There is this really special family we are teaching in my area right now. They are named the Cahuasa family. To get to their house we have to walk to the far end or our area then go down a big, muddy hill then cross two ghetto bridges made of sticks and wooden planks. They live in a small hut right on the edge of the jungle. Their backyard is literally just pure jungle. We found them one day when we were making contacts in the street. Some guy told us that there was a really humble family that lived next to him that we could go and teach so we went and taught them and they will be baptized at the end of this month.
I´m so sorry, but I literally just don´t have any time right now. we had tons of stuff to do because we are going to lima tomorrow for a conference so we have to get everything ready to go right now. i wrote that last paragraph last week hahaha i´m so sorry i didn´t send it, there just wasn´t a whole ton of time. I PROMISE I will actually write you next week. everything is going better than great. thank you so much for the love and the support. I LOVE YOU!
