He has the best mission in the world!

THIARMMMYCHHC,
You officially have 2 children officially serving as real, full-time, official missionaries. That´s official. The best part about your two official missionaries is the fact that God assigned them to the same mission language and when they are back in your home and in family parties they are going to want to practice their new talent and do a lot of talking in spanish. What fun hahaha. Other friends such as Chaddy and Chase are also going to speak lots of spanish. So don´t worry, Mom. You have tons of stuff to look forward to.
We had a really good week! We had tons of people go to church with us and we have two more families that have sure baptismal dates March 10th. I´m starting to feel the effects of 16 and a half months of dedicated missionary work and I´m kinda tired a lot, but I´m still stoked and we are sill getting a lot done. There is an elder in the zone named Elder Coburn. He has about 6 months in the mission, but spent his first two months in Alabama because he couldn´t get his visa. I was asking him about how the mission is in the United States and I totally am super even more stoked-er to be here. As far as walking in the hot sun and pouring rain and eating weird, repetitive foods, and learning a foreign language with a difficult dialect, the mission here just seems so so so much easier. We always have people to teach. There are always people who just stop us in the streets and tell us to come to their house and teach their family. Everyone seems so much more humble here and I don´t know, I just love it. Like every missionary says, I have the best mission in the world haha.

Jealous that Ben is just starting out!!!

Mother of mine,
We all knew this moment would come, but none of us thought it would or could come so fast. Little Nathan-Jake is going to be a missionary just like his big brothers. HOW COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just barely realized that there´s an elder in my zone named Elder Raffagnini and he is from Rosario, Argentina. He says it´s a wonderful place, it´s really big and clean, and the church is really stable there. I´m so jealous he is going to be starting out right now. I wish I could just tell him everything I know and he could start out and just be pumped up and start baptizing, but, like everything else in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, it´s a process that he has to go through for himself.
The ward Secada is doing great. We had a meeting last night with all the bishops in the stake and the stake president about missionary work and the stake president asked us to do a few little trainings about the mission´s focus, it was a really spiritual meeting and all the bishops are pretty stoked to start focusing more on the mission work that´s going on in their wards. We had a few baptismal dates fall through because of a few difficulties we had with a couple marriages, but don´t even worry, they will be able to get married and baptized in March. Wow. I can´t believe it´s almost March.
To answer some of your questions, no, I didn´t actually dislocate my shoulder. I thought I did, but that wasn´t the problem. It just got very very bumped and bruised, but it´s all better now. We did a service project the other day with machetes and everything and I was able to work just fine. And yes, the ward is very good with welcoming in new members. I have never seen a bishop do his part quite as well as the Bishop Vidal Vega does his part. It really is an amazing ward and all the members here just want to help us get more and more members and help the church grow. Everybody is into it becuase the church isn´t that big here and everybody wants it to be bigger. In the entire country of Perú, there is only 1 temple. there are like a billion in the united states. It´s really cool to be a part of the work here.
One of my fellow elder´s moms is going to be calling you so that she can send you a check and you can put the money in my account and I can take the money out and give it to him. His name is Elder Hughes. I think she is going to be calling you today, I gave them your number.
I sent you two pictures, but I can´t really remember which ones I sent you, but I´m sure they are awesome!
Tons of love,
Elder Emett

Accident Pictures

Crazy Cool Memories

Deir Thampsssies,
Sí yo, tu negro. Life is good. The mission is just sweeter than a bag of cinnamon bears. It was really hard to be in bed for almost a week and not be able to visit our investigators and see their progress, but I was able to work without any problems this entire week! We are going to be baptizing a family on the 25th, another one on the 3rd, and another one on the 10th, and two more who just need a little bit more work. We´re totally stoked. I have a little bit more time two write you, so I will try to answer some of your questions.
I have had a great week! The recovery is going better than amazing! I wasn´t even exaggerating when I told you last week that I was good to go and now the only evidence I have of the wreck is a sore arm and some crazy cool memories flying through the air hahahaha this family asked me what I was thinking in that moment when we went flying and I was like, ¨I think I was thinking something like this: AHHAHAYAYAHAHAYAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!¨ hahaha it was a joke I learned from Brian Reagan and it made the family laugh super hard. I did, in fact, get a new companion. His name is Elder Riquelme. He is from Santiago, Chile just like my trainer Elder Orellana and my companion in Yurimaguas, Elder Castillo. I love Chileans. Elder Riquelme is tall, dark, and handsome. He has 21 months in the mission so he will be finishing with me. He is really funny, really respectful, and he lets me take control of the work and so we are having success and we are both just really really happy. Yes, I am still in my rainy, jungly paradise Iquitos (I bought you all some cool jungle gifts that I am going to be sending home in a few weeks, so if you could send me a little extra $$ dolla dolla bills I can put them all in a box and send them off to sunny town st. george).
(these questions are a bit older, but I´m going to answer them because I have time haha) I did not call you until friday night because for one, I did not feel good enough and two, I had to wait until president called you first and then ask him for permission to call you. The accident did not break any one of my bones, it dislocated my shoulder and it bruised my arm, the left side of my head, and my ribs. I am actually sending you a few pictures so you can see my progress. One picture (in the hilarious open red polo) is the day after the accident, the next picture is just a day after that with all my bruises and the next picture was taken yesterday when we were playing with one of those huge bugs that flies and has the big horn and you can clearly see that the stitches barely left a mark. Thank you for all of your prayers. I actually did not pass out which surprises everyone. I was alert the whole time haha, and I did not get a cocussion thankfully. I actually would love a new pair of pants. I had 3 and I gave one to Elder Lazo, I gave the other to a convert who had no clothes to wear to church, and the ones I was using in the accident go torn and I cant use them anymore haha, so I am currently using a ghetto pair of worn, black pants that Elder Lazo gave to me. It would be way cool to send something to my bishop. He does not speak english, but he has a family and is a really simple guy. A box of candy with a church cd or something or a picture of the family and a note that says ¨gracias por todo¨ would be way way cool.
Well, I think I almost answered half of your questions hahaha. I just hope that you all know that I love you a whole bunch. I got tons and tons of letters from you last week and a box with valentines candy. There are so many missionaries that just don´t get anything from their families and some whose families don´t even support them. thank you so much for being an amazing family. I really do love you all.

Prayers have been answered!

Dear my only mother thams thams

I literally did not have one minute to write to you yesterday with all the changes we have going on in the zone and the conference and all the plane tickets I had to print out and everything, but I have a minute right now. But literally just one minute haha. I just need to thank you and the family and the ward members and the friends for all their prayers. I don´t really know how it happened, but I am good to go. I can move my arm, I can breathe without feeling any pain at all and I can walk and I´m not the least bit tired. The cut on my forehead 100% healed and I am getting the stitches out today hahaha. I am not going to be able to answer all your questions, but just know that I really am fine... I´m better than fine. I can´t even believe how fast I have healed. Thank you so much. Tell everyone that I am back to normal and still loving my mission. I know the priesthood is here on earth and it comes straight from God. I also know that prayer really truly works and it makes all the difference. I love you mom.

Prayers for Kolby

Kolby was in a car accident this Wednesday at 7pm. A truck going 35 miles an hour hit into the motor taxi he was in. It hit the left side where he was sitting and he was thrown from the taxi. He has 8 stitches above his left eye. His left shoulder and arm took the biggest blow but nothing was broken. He has been struggling to breathe but his lung was not punctured, just hurt ribs. His clothes were ripped to shreds but his garments were completely unharmed. He believes that many miracles happened and the fact that he is alive is one of them. He was able to call and talk to us tonight and it was good to hear his voice. He has a good mission president, bishop and ward that is taking great care of him. He is pretty hurt but he will be fine. His companion is doing fine, he was one the right side of the motor taxi and just a little bruised. He could use all of our prayers for a quick and complete recovery.
